1. The ultimate working temperature of insulation materials refers to the temperature of the hottest point in the winding insulation during the operation of the gearbox within the expected design life. If the operating temperature exceeds the maximum working temperature of the material for a long time, the aging of the insulation will intensify and the service life will be greatly shortened. So in operation, temperature is one of the main factors affecting lifespan.
2. Temperature rise is the temperature difference between the gearbox and the environment, caused by the overheating of the gearbox. Temperature rise is an important indicator in the design and operation of gearbox manufacturers, indicating the degree of heating of the gearbox. During operation, if the temperature rise of the gearbox suddenly increases, it indicates that there is a fault in the gearbox, or the air duct is blocked or the load is too heavy;
3. The iron core of the gearbox in operation will experience iron loss when exposed to an alternating magnetic field, copper loss when the winding is energized, and other stray losses. All of these will cause the temperature of the gearbox to rise. On the other hand, the gearbox also dissipates heat. When the heat generation and heat dissipation are equal, the equilibrium state is reached, and the temperature no longer rises but stabilizes at a certain level. When the heat generation increases or the heat dissipation decreases, the balance will be disrupted, causing the temperature to continue to rise and expand the temperature difference, thereby increasing heat dissipation and reaching a new equilibrium at another higher temperature.
